The Agência de Promoção Comércio e Investimento (APCI) is São Tomé and Príncipe’s national institution dedicated to fostering economic growth through investment promotion and trade facilitation. Established in December 2013, APCI plays a pivotal role in enhancing the country’s business environment by bridging the gap between the public and private sectors. Its mission focuses on positioning São Tomé and Príncipe as a prime investment destination and promoting its locally produced goods on the international stage.
In October 2024, APCI actively participated in the 29th Macau International Fair and the Macao Franchise Exhibition, showcasing the nation’s investment opportunities and strengthening ties with global business communities. Additionally, APCI has been instrumental in organizing forums and sessions aimed at exploring sector-specific opportunities, particularly in tourism, hospitality, agriculture, and fisheries.
The agency’s commitment to excellence was recognized in 2019 when APCI was shortlisted for the “Best Investment Promotion Agency in Africa” award by The European – Global Banking & Finance magazine, highlighting its significant contributions to the continent’s economic development.
