Kampala Industrial and Business Park (KIBP) - Kampala - Uganda

Uganda through UIA has designed and is establishing the Kampala Industrial and Business Park (KIBP) at Namanve 12km on the Kampala/Jinja highway. This 2000 acres project is designed to provide easily accessible serviced land for industry and business establishment on the outskirts of the capital, Kampala. The Uganda to Mombasa railway line runs through the park, bulk water and power are being vailed to the park as government contribution to reduce the cost of serviced land to the expected industries and businesses thereby attracting quicker occupancy.

To provide the needed remaining roads, electricity and water reticulation systems, the current (2011) KIBP design plans show an indicative cost price of US$ 185 Million. Economic analysis of the project (subject to review) indicates that a concessional loan of this magnitude could be recovered over a period of 15 years from leases and space rentals in this industrial park.
