Profile
The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) is a premier free zone and trade hub strategically located along the expanded Suez Canal, a vital corridor through which over 8% of global trade flows annually. Covering 461 km²—nearly two-thirds the size of Singapore—the SCZone comprises two integrated areas (Ain Sokhna with its port, and East Port Said with its port), two development areas (Qantara West and East Ismailia), and four additional ports: West Port Said, Adabiya, Al Tor, and Al Arish.
These areas offer diverse investment opportunities in industrial and commercial enterprises, infrastructure, real estate development, logistics, and advanced technology. Planned expansions aim to boost maritime traffic capacity and provide services such as shipbuilding, stevedoring, bunkering, and vessel recycling.
Established under Law No. 83 of 2002 and amended in 2015, the SCZone provides a streamlined, investor-friendly environment with simplified procedures for business registration, licensing, and permits. Its strategic location and comprehensive infrastructure make it a key driver of Egypt’s economic growth and a gateway for trade between Europe, Asia, and Africa
