Ankole Coffee Producers Cooperative Union (ACPCU) Ltd is a farmer-owned, Fair Trade and CERES Organic certified coffee processing and exporting organization based in Ishaka, Bushenyi Municipality, along the Mbarara–Kasese highway in southwestern Uganda. Registered under the Registrar of Cooperatives, ACPCU is made up of 17 primary cooperatives from Greater Ankole—Bushenyi, Mbarara, Ntungamo, Sheema, Ibanda, and Rubirizi. It buys hulled coffee from members, then grades, sorts, packs, and exports it. ACPCU began with 10 societies and has grown to 17, uniting over 6,000 multi-ethnic farmers across the region. Together, they market quality coffee and work to improve livelihoods. ACPCU has invested Fair Trade premiums in community projects, including nurseries, schools, bridges, ponds, and warehouses. Notable initiatives include school construction in Nyakahita and Katenga (Mitooma District), and infrastructure improvements across member areas.
