The Madudu Foundation is a Dutch foundation and is officially called ‘Stichting Madudu Foundation’ but is better known to the public under the name ‘Madudu Foundation’. The Foundation was established in November 2018. The objectives of the Madudu Foundation are:
a. the worldwide training and guidance of potential film andphotography talent so that they can tell authentic stories from their own country and region and therefore also can provide in their own livelihood;
b. to increase knowledge of and involvement in sustainable development goals
amongst citizens;
c. to tell stories of people and their lives through film, photography and text
focused on social impact in the broadest sense of the word.
The board of the Foundation consists of Bert-Jan van Manen (chairman), Bezait Gebre (secretary) and Edwin Wiersma (treasurer). The board carries out the work in the form of volunteer work and therefore receives no compensation for the work (with the exception of any travel allowances in the Netherlands). The foundation does not have its own personnel but uses other volunteers and freelancers.
