Profile
The Mercury Phoenix Trust is a globally recognized charity founded in 1992 by the surviving members of the iconic band Queen — Brian May, Roger Taylor, and Freddie Mercury’s partner, Jim Hutton. Established in memory of the legendary lead singer Freddie Mercury, who passed away from AIDS-related complications, the trust’s mission is to raise awareness and funds for the fight against HIV/AIDS worldwide.
The Trust works closely with various organizations to provide support and funding for HIV/AIDS research, prevention, and treatment initiatives, particularly in regions most affected by the disease. Through charity events, concerts, and partnerships, it has raised millions to support global AIDS charities, with a focus on Africa, where the epidemic continues to have a devastating impact.
