Investec Group Limited - Gaborone - Botswana

Investec Group Limited established a presence in Botswana in 1995, as part of an expansionist drive into Southern Africa, which also included Mauritius and Namibia. The group initially focused on private banking, securities and asset management.

Following the subsequent sale of the securities business in a citizen empowerment transaction at the end of 2001, and the sale of the banking business in November 2003, Investec now operates only a focused asset management business in Botswana.

Investec Asset Management Botswana focuses on institutional fund management and is one of the leading asset management businesses in Botswana.

Investec Group Limited has a secondary listing on the Foreign Companies Board of the Botswana Stock Exchange.
