Wild Fruits of Africa (Pty) Ltd is a rural community based business in Botswana, providing the rural poor with income-generating opportunities by sustainably harvesting the wild resources in their areas. The main wild fruit that we process in our factory is the flavourful Marula (Sclerocarya birrea) which is available in thousands of tons a year, most of which rots because there are not enough wild animals, livestock or people to eat it. The fruit has four times as much Vitamin C as oranges, and is high in dietary fibre. We have developed a range of tasty snack foods from the marula fruit.
