Department for Co-operative Development
Promotes formation and registration of Co-operative Societies as autonomous associations of persons who have voluntarily grouped themselves to provide for their common social and economic needs and aspirations through their jointly owned and democratically controlled Co-operative business enterprises. It also educates and advices Co-operative Societies on matters relating to co-operative management;
Department of Corporate Services
Provides corporate services to the Ministry, including coordination of the effective mobilization, management and utilization of resources, monitoring and implementation of the Ministry’s development projects to ensure effective execution of the Ministry’s core mandate;
Department of Industrial Affairs
Promotes Industrial development through formulation, implementation and review of policies and legislation aimed at stimulating investment, sustainable industries, economic growth and diversification;
Department of International
Trade Responsible for trade development and creation of market access through bilateral and multilateral trade agreements/ treaties;
Department of Trade and Consumer Affairs
Promotes the growth and development of internal trade, fair business practices, as well as consumer protection and welfare through formulation and review of Policies and Legislation;
Doing Business Unit
Responsible for the coordination of all efforts aimed at improving ease of doing business and competitiveness environment in Botswana
Economic Diversification Drive
Unit Coordinates and facilitates all efforts aimed at diversifying the economy through the development of globally competitive enterprises.
