The African Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Partnerships (ACHAP) is a non-profit organization established in 2000 as a public-private partnership between the Government of Botswana, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and Merck & Co., Inc. Headquartered in Gaborone, ACHAP aims to strengthen Botswana’s national response to HIV/AIDS through a comprehensive approach encompassing prevention, treatment, care, and support. Over the years, ACHAP has expanded its focus to address other public health challenges, including tuberculosis, non-communicable diseases, and epidemic responses such as COVID-19. The organization offers technical assistance, health system strengthening, and grant management, establishing itself as a key player in regional health development.
