The Southern African Development Community (SADC) is a Regional Economic Community of 15 Member States established in 1992 to promote regional integration, economic development, poverty reduction, peace and security in Southern Africa. SADC works to improve living standards through sustainable development, democratic principles, cooperation among member states, environmental protection, productive employment, resource management, and the strengthening of historical, social and cultural ties across the region.
