Botswana Hindu Charity Trust Temple - Gaborone

During the year 2000, few friends toyed with the idea of constructing a Temple for Lord Venkateshwara so that the community can have a dedicated place of worship with the traditional Indian Architecture. Soon they formed a trust by name “Botswana Hindu Charity Trust (BHCT)”. The Trust’s main objective was to build a temple for Lord Venkateshwara along with the provision of sanctum-Sanctorium for other deities as well. BHCT worked more than hard enough to secure a land measuring 7018 square meters from the Government of Botswana, initiating the Temple project, procuring Sthapathis and Artisans from India, conducting various events to raise funds and building the temple. It took nearly 7 years to bring the dream to reality. The temple successfully completed and officially opened on 16th Sep 2007.
