The Port of Durban, in South Africa, is the country’s busiest port and one of Africa’s major container terminals. It handles up to 31.4 million tonnes of cargo annually and more than 2.5 million TEU. The port has 58 berths, 302 km of rail tracks and receives over 4,500 commercial vessels each year. Its entrance channel reaches 19 metres in depth, while facilities include container, automotive and general cargo terminals with extensive road and rail connections.
