The Uganda Society works to promote and preserve Uganda’s literary, scientific and cultural heritage in all of its diversity. It’s one of Africa’s leading academic societes with a respected multi-disciplinary tradition. It is open to everyone interested in Uganda’s liefe and culture!
The Uganda Society has a library, located at the Uganda Museum. The purpose of the library is to acquire and maintain valuable volumes and documents concerning African history, anthropology, languages and natural history with an emphasis on Uganda. There is also a large collection of maps and rare old photographs of Uganda’s land and people. JOIN!! Payments can be made at the library during opening hours. We offer daily membership for research such as discounts on annual memberships or memberships for students!!!
THE UGANDA JOURNAL Since 1934, the Uganda Society publication, The Uganda Journal, has been praised throughout Africa and around the world. It offers an international readership regular access to contemprary studies, ideas and information. It’s a common platform for ugandan and international researcher! All editions are available in the Library!!!
We sell our yearly published magazine, The Uganda Journal, our Posters (Snakes of Uganda, Moths of Uganda, Butterflies of Uganda) and other books from ugandan or international authors. Right now we have around 30 different book, you find a collection under pictures.
