Who we are / Info
The Cotton Development Organisation (CDO), based in Kampala, is a public institution responsible for promoting, regulating, and developing Uganda’s cotton industry. Established to strengthen one of the country’s key agricultural sectors, the CDO supports farmers through training, technical assistance, and modern farming practices aimed at improving yields and cotton quality. The organisation also oversees cotton ginning, quality control, and marketing standards to ensure Ugandan cotton remains competitive in international markets. In addition, the CDO works with government and industry stakeholders to encourage sustainable cotton production, innovation, and long-term economic growth across the cotton value chain.
