Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (BUAN) evolved from being a College to a University in 2016 with the mandate to provide higher education and training in the field of Agriculture, Natural resources and such other allied and related subjects. The University’s overarching goal is to produce market–ready graduates for the agricultural and natural resource sectors. Our strategic foundations, clearly define the University’s role in the context of multiple and changing demands; nationally, regionally and in an increasingly interconnected global world. This paradigm shift is geared towards making agriculture the pride of the nation, as well as enabling the University to contribute to the country’s aspirations of transforming to a knowledge-based economy leveraged on sustainable economic development, human and social development and sustainable environment. We trust that through our strategic intent, BUAN will enthuse and instigate all stakeholders to diligently play their roles to lift BUAN to its envisaged position of serving the Nation of Botswana.
