Tannery Industries Botswana (Pty) Ltd. Botswana has a strong local supply of raw hides and skins, supported by a national cattle herd of 2.5–3.3 million head. With an average off-take rate of 9% processed through the Botswana Meat Commission, the country produces around 200,000–300,000 hides annually. As global leather demand rises with growing middle-income markets, Botswana is developing a dynamic leather cluster, starting with a leather park in Lobatse.
