Who we are / Info
The Namibia Industrial Development Agency (NIDA), established in 2018 under Act 16 of 2016, drives Namibia’s industrialisation agenda in line with national policies such as the Growth at Home Strategy, Harambee Prosperity Plan, and NDP5. NIDA provides industrial land across towns including Windhoek, Walvis Bay, Otjiwarongo, Oshakati, and others, supporting private sector development and investment.
To promote agro-industries, NIDA has reserved extensive land for value addition, manufacturing, and climate-smart agriculture, including farms for grapes, dates, citrus, and cultivated pastures. With shovel-ready sites and a trainable, youthful workforce, the agency facilitates investment in renewable energy, agro-processing, and manufacturing.
NIDA’s medium-term focus is on employment creation, entrepreneurship, investment attraction, export-oriented growth, import substitution, and youth empowerment. The agency manages approximately 280,000 hectares of farmland across six commercial farms, 148 industrial estates, and SME business parks, housing around 1,080 enterprises, all equipped with modern infrastructure and compliant with regulatory standards, positioning NIDA as a central driver of Namibia’s industrialisation.
