Our development objectives of the municipality are:

To promote and ensure guided development in accordance with the Municipal Structure Plan
To improve the environment and health standards of all the people in the municipality so that they may lead socially and economically productive lives
To have improved road network, well planned urban development and proper maintenance of council’s plants, equipments and other assets
To build and strengthen the capacity of the finance and planning sector and widen the revenue base in order to facilitate and guide the planning and financing of council programs and projects.
To provide quality education and intensive supervision through provision of modern infrastructure and facilities to our schools
To have efficient and effective systems and ensuring proper implementation of council programs
To enhance staff and organisation performance through staff development, coordination and supervision of all municipal programs and policies
Mitigating the spread of HIV/AIDS in the community and promote HIV/AIDS work policy
Improved community welfare for sustainable development.
Achievements:

The municipality has continued in providing quality services to the people and boasts of achievements mentioned below:

Construction of teachers houses and school classrooms
Furnishing classrooms
Tarmacking of roads
Rehabilitation of drainage channels
Rehabilitation and routine maintenance of earth roads
Construction of health centers and maternity wards
Tarmacking bus park
Solid waster management
Installation of security lights for the bus park and in the town center
Extension of electricity and piped water across the municipality
We have revolutionized the payment system where by all financial transactions are done through the bank
We have contracted out revenue collection and service provision to the private sector
